Ryan (almost) has a degree in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University with a Minor in Spanish. He has an intuition for bread baking and dough mixing that often leads him to be referred to as “The Mad Scientist.” Before becoming a baker, Ryan was an ATV tour guide in Sedona and teacher at a charter school. He studied abroad in Mexico for a semester in college.
Ryan grew up searching the sky for his “buddy” Orion—probably because it sounded a whole lot like “Ryan!” So we decided to name our first born Eron Dee Orion Taylor. On a clear September night in 2006, the Orion constellation was sitting directly over our house while Trecia gave birth—and it seemed the name we picked was perfect! A few months later when we were trying to decide what to name our bakery, we decided to follow suit. The blessings our “buddy” brings with him are endless and each night we look for him in the sky to say thanks! However, we like to think that, instead of a sword and a shield, Orion is holding a baguette and a peel!
In October 2010 we welcomed Maxton Lee Rigel Taylor to the family. He had a bit of an exciting start, as he was born a couple of months early—(an experience which involved a helicopter ride and a month in the NICU!) Now he’s a happy, healthy boy and a bright shining star. Just like Rigel, the left foot of Orion!
Trecia has a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Spanish from Northern Arizona University. She manages book-keeping, marketing and sales for The Orion Bread Co. Before embarking on the bakery adventure, Trecia was a waitress and was also a teacher at a charter school for a short time.
When she is not wearing her “Orion Bread” hat, Trecia enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan Taylor, two sons, Eron and Maxton. She also enjoys arts and crafts and spending time in nature. Trecia also serves as Treasurer on the Old Town Association and enjoys working with the community.
